A beautifully preserved example of mid-century modern tableware, this substantial stainless-steel flatware set was produced in Norway by Lauffer in the iconic Design 2 pattern.

Designed by noted industrial designer Don Wallance, the pattern is distinguished by its smooth, gently tapered handles, softly rounded forms and satisfying balance in the hand. Its restrained silhouette reflects the Scandinavian modern belief that everyday objects should be both useful and beautifully designed.

The set provides a complete six-piece service for eight, along with an unusually generous assortment of coordinating serving utensils. Each piece is stamped “Norway” and remains in wonderful vintage condition, showing only light wear consistent with careful use.
